SAI 2023 will consist of the following:

  • Dual Enrollment Courses & Unite Program
    June 5 to June 30

    Dual Enrollment courses for rising 11th and 12th graders 

    Unite Program for rising 10th graders interested in engineering 

  • Rising 12 grade (Class of 2024)
    June 12 to June 30

    Program for rising 12th graders 

  • Rising 11th (Class of 2025)
    June 19 to June 30

    Program for rising 11th graders

  • Rising 8th and 9th (Class of 2028 and 2027)

    UCCS Campus Overnight Stay for rising 12th & 11th graders 

  • Ice Cream Social (Open to all families and students)

    All Student, family, staff are welcome to join at the Ice Cream Social to celebrate the end of SAI.

Who can participate in the Summer Academic Institute (SAI)?

PCDP participants who register for SAI ahead of time. 

Am I required to participate in the 2023 Summer Academic Institute?

If you registered for SAI, then you must attend the activities you selected.  Dual Enrollment classes are semester-long college level classes condensed into 4 weeks.  Attendance is crucial to keeping up with assignments and passing the class.  If you are having an emergency, contact PCDP staff and your Dual Enrollment instructor (if you have a Dual Enrollment class) as soon as possible, to inform of your absence and get instructions.  If you must miss more than 3 days of a Dual Enrollment class, it is best to withdraw from the class to avoid a failing grade. 

If you are a PCDP participant and you were not able to attend SAI, we expect you to attend Transition Coaching Nights, and College Experience events during the school year. 

What is the cost to students to participate?

All workshops are offered at no cost to students.

Do I have to purchase my textbooks?

No

If I receive academic accommodations in my high school classes, will I receive those same accommodations in my college classes?

Academic accommodations may look a little different for students in college courses than they do for students at their high school. Students may request accommodations through UCCS Disability Services  and by completing the steps outlined here. Please reach out to the Pre-Collegiate office or Disability Services with any questions about this process, and we would be happy to help! 

How do I see my grades at the end of the summer?

Students can check their final course grades through their MyUCCS Portal. 

How do I request my transcripts at the end of the summer?
Is transportation provided for in-person events?

No. PCDP cannot provide transportation although we may be able to offer bus passes for interested students.  

Where can I park?

Generally, there is no free parking on campus. If you are interested in parking on campus please contact Victoria Caruso (719) 255 3457 or through email at vcaruso@uccs.edu. You will need to provide the license plate number, the state of the plate, and be able to drive. These parking permits are limited by one vehicle per student.

What if my student needs to leave during the day?

In order for a student to leave campus during SAI they must be checked out with the front office by a parent or guardian.
