Middle School Programs
Workshops
Workshops are opportunities for Pre-Collegiate middle school scholars to learn and practice skills related to academic success, for example: time management, note-taking, and prioritizing tasks. Workshops also cover concepts and skills related to life leading up to and during high school, for instance, social-emotional awareness, communication, and leadership.
Program Details:
- Workshop activities are created under the supervision of Pre-Collegiate professional staff and often in collaboration with campus and community partners.
- Workshops are facilitated by a team of Program Coaches.
- All workshops occur on the UCCS campus one Friday per month, during school hours.
- There are also two optional Saturday morning workshops during the Spring semester
- The workshops are scheduled by grade-level cohorts, but, at least twice per academic year, scholars from the 7th and 8th grade cohorts are brought together for combined workshops and collaborative activities.
The Summer Residential Program
- The Summer Residential Program (SRP) is a one-week program for raising 9th and 10th graders to spend a week at the UCCS Campus. It is a great opportunity for student to start experiencing Colorado Springs, and their life as a future college student. Programming will take place late July - early August.
